LOCATION

Earth is the 3rd planet from the The Sun in our solar system.  Its is a terristrial planet which means which classifies the closest of the planets to the sun.  All of them have a mantle with a silica based core made of Mostly Iron-rich core in the center.  These planets are Mars, Mercury, Venus and Earth all share similar features and all have similiar chemical and elemental compounds.

 

 

EARTHS AGE

At this points in its life time, Earth is about 4.6 billion years old.  Earth- by definition means dry land, ground what is on this planet has taken on a larger name as becoming the planes title.  

 

EARTHS SIZE:  Width(equatorial diameter)-7,926 miles or 12,775 km

                        Height (length from pole to pole)-7900 or 12,714 km

 

Its size compared to most other planets in the solar system is small but its exact demonsions wouldnt tell you that.

 

 

 

TEMPERATURE

The habitability of earth is very sustainable as we all know.  The temperature depending on which part of the world you are in could range from as cold as -50 degrees below 0 or as hot as 140 degrees above zero. 

 AS you can depict in the graph below Earth has had a steady rise in temperature in the past 50 years.  (celsius)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Origin of Body

 Earth most likely began as a planetary nebula- a cloud of gases and dust that grew to be dense toward the middle started spinning and created its own gravitational pull.   This over time created a mass of matter clumped together to form a rocky gasious sphere the early stages of our planet.  It then formed and atmosphere which protects all that we call life on this planet.

 

 The composition of Earth

Earth is an incredibly incricate web of chemical designs.  Our athmosphere  composed of  78.1% nitrogen,  20.9% oxygen, .9%argon, and .1% Carbon dioxide, Methane and other rare inert gases

 

Biosphere by definition the sum of all living things(water, organic substances and skeletal matter) - solid and liquid which includes all forms of life notably plants and animals and their products (e.g. skeletons) both on land and in the sea. 

The Hydrosphere meaning all water or liquid on earth(fresh and salt water, snow and ice) mainly liquid, some solid  includes all forms of water.

Internal structure of the Earth, which includes:

 The Crust (normal silicate rocks such as granite and basalt) - solid Mantle made up of ferromagnesium-rich silicate rocks)  the solid Core (iron-nickel alloy) making it have 2 parts a liquid upper part and a solid lower part

 

Earth's Orbit

 

Earth as we are taught moves in a eliptical sort of movement around the sun.  This is correct, this is what gives us the 4 seasons that our planet goes through each year.  It takes  approximatly 365.25 days to rotate around the sun.  The closer it is, the warmer it is on earth (spring summer) the further

away it gets gets the colder it is on earth (fall and winter).

Earth has a single The Moon that falls into its gravitational field and is rotating around us like we are the sun.  It is speculated that the moon may have once been a peice of the earth broken off a long time ago
